Each circle is a stop, coloured by how full it is when you arrive, based on Parka traffic data. The selected day's drive is the solid line, and a moon marks where on the road you stop for the night. Bigger circles are bigger parking lots. Tap a stop, or use the arrows below, to walk through your route.

How we measure crowding

Crowding comes from every entry and exit Parka recorded at its parking lots along the route in 2025 and 2026, averaged by week of the year and half hour of the day. 100% is how full a parking lot gets in its busiest half hours. Time at each stop is the stay Parka measures there. Stops marked ~ have no Parka parking lot, or too little data that week, and are estimated.

Traffic data and measured time at each stop: Parka parking lots, 2025–2026. Þingvellir, Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss, Vík, Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Höfn have no Parka parking lot, so their daily pattern is a rough estimate that follows the season measured at Parka sites. Reynisfjara combines all of its parking lots. Overnight stays are placed halfway along the drive between two stops. Map is schematic: stops around Vík and Kirkjubæjarklaustur are nudged apart so they stay readable. Drive times are rough estimates for Route 1 and the Golden Circle roads.
